4.0This "hotel" is sold to be a rustic experience, outside the city. It's crumbling apart. Showers flood Bed mattresses are old and springy Furniture wobbles all over the place. There's no swimming pool Cleaning service is slow and sloppy Avoid

10.0We had a very nice experience at this hotel. It’s close enough to town to allow us to walk to several activities in town, and staff were very attentive. Several staff were constantly working to clean the facility. Several areas to relax in beautiful surroundings.
Good option for those wanting to stay near town but also feel isolated
10.0I spent two nights here last week and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel was very picturesque; most, if not every room, had a private or shared balcony with chairs or benches; the grounds were colorful and meticulously landscaped, including at least ten small outdoor sitting areas; there was an outdoor children's play area; and all the areas, including my room, were extremely clean. The reception and restaurant staff were friendly, accommodating, and helpful. There were a few restaurants just outside the grounds or within a couple of minutes' walk, although the hotel restaurant offers full service. It took me 10-15 minutes to walk to the center of town. Taxis were readily available for the return trip, if needed, as it is uphill. My room didn't have air conditioning, but at an altitude of about 4,500 feet and a hefty breeze, I actually had to keep the windows closed most of the time. This is a good option for those wanting to stay near town but also feel isolated. I'd definitely stay there again.

Wonderful place
10.0Wonderful place to visit if you’re going to Monteverde. From the time we arrived, the receptionist, Jennifer Cruz, was very warm and accommodating. From local recommendations, to making reservations for us, to offering umbrellas, etc she could not have been more gracious. We would not hesitate to come back.
