Lovely room, amazing food.
8.0Lovely room, great bar, the tasting menu was a great experience and tasted amazing. No wine pairing was offered, bit disappointed.
A beautiful place to stay
10.0Welcoming staff everywhere. Atmospheric places throughout the castle with excellent breakfast and comfortable bed also. Will definitely be back
So disappointed after looking forward to a castle stay.
4.0Castle impressive. Was really looking forward to staying here. But Overpriced and not well kept. Rooms dreadful unfortunately. Dirty. Worn out. Dirty tissue inside tissue box. Towels worn out. Bathroom grubby and not cleaned. Room furniture was hand painted (very badly) with gouges and chips out of it everywhere. Could not use bed side drawers due to paint jamming them. One opened and was covered in paint flakes and thick dust. Very noisy all night due to fans on or some kind of low rumble noise. Food well below average and prices were very high. The price for a beer was mental and they added a 10% gratuity on it! For standing and putting beer into a glass. Almost £9!! Breakfast sausage was very nice. But that was it. Everything else was poor quality and left on my plate. I told reception about issues and they said nothing they could do now. But they would look after me on my next stay. I would certainly not stay again. Looks like only geared up for weddings and events as if these are the rooms they let people stay in (I was in 212) for a night or two I don’t think many would return.
GB News for breakfast
4.0Impressive when you arrive but less inspiring as a stay. Going to breakfast and seeing a large TV playing GB News may be some people's idea of a relaxing break, but I found it nauseating. The room was a bit run down too. Staff were all very pleasant.
Disappointed night away
2.0Stayed here on Thursday 26th March, the drive up didn’t disappoint us it was beautiful from the outside. Went to our room which was 201 & that’s where the charm of the castle left. Room was dark old & cold but we did have a heater & tbf we half expected its a Castle (slightly shocked that the window wall was wet.) The Resturant was where we were disappointed the most we expected fine dining it wasn’t the starter was Mini sausages huge amount & microwave HOT the mains Aberdeen Angus didn’t taste like steak & the amount of fat just turned my stomach, drinks in the bar not impressed, back to the Room kept awake by the snoring if next door (it’s a castle) didn’t expect thin walls Breakfast my stomach still not the best from the evening meal couldn’t face a full breakfast thought toast would be ok wasn’t asked if I preferred white or brown I hate Brown Bread. Hubbie ordered scrambled eggs he loves this & he couldn’t eat it Lesson learned I wouldn’t go back the place externally is definitely beautiful it’s history the grounds lovely BUT THE PLACE IS TIRED IT NEED MONEY SPENT ON THE PLACE & an overhaul on its menu
A Beautiful Place
10.0Peckforton Castle is an absolutely beautiful place to enjoy a romantic night away or for us a few nights away for my birthday. This is the second time we have stayed there and will go again. The food is delicious, both breakfast and the evening meal and all the staff made our stay really enjoyable, thank you.
