10.0It was a lovely country hotel , set in extensive grounds. The staff were excellent as was the food , breakfast, lunch and the evening meal was excellent. We stayed in the Owl suite , a last minute overnight stay , We will definitely be returning.

8.0Good location and an impressive old building. Large room and very quiet. Staff were friendly.
− The building has seen better days and the decor is old and tired but it did have a certain charm. The water pressure was very low and as a result the shower was not much more than a dribble. It took a while but it did get hot.
Sweet hotel but in need of a refresh.
5.0Very friendly staff and organised. Accomodated an early checkin which was really helpful. There was a fan which helped keep the room cool in the heatwave.
− The room/ hotel felt very old and run down. A bottle of water would have been nice. A mini fridge would have been helpful.
A relaxing, well appointed country hotel with very good staff.
9.0A warm welcome from friendly engaging owner and staff, quiet, away from the road down a private drive, and relaxing. Great ambience for sitting, relaxing, having breakfast etc. The owner manager is particularly attentive but not in any way intrusive, a well judged balance. Very large spacious room ('Woodpecker') with views over garden and double aspect that allowed some though-draught in the hot weather.
− A small fridge in the room for keeping water and milk cool would have been useful as it was during a recent 'heatwave' but the hotel can hardly have any control over that! A good electric fan had already been provided in the room. The shower was a little weak, reflective of what may be expected in an older, period, property.

− For the price I was very disappointed. To not even have a small bottle of complimentary water, the tv didn’t work and the shower gel bottle was completely empty
