Lovely beach resort
8.0We were looking for a place somewhat equivalent to the excellent Beach House Suites by Don Cesar in St. Pete’s Beach, Florida, but not in the USA this time (guess why). Siboney was a good alternative choice. Came in March 2026, two week stay, older couple. The Beach: The Beach was fine white sand and pristine, great to swim there. My wife preferred the excellent pool, as she found the beach chairs too low down, hard to get into and out from. The attentive staff (Marlon and Delroy) were quick to bring food and drink to your chair on the beach. Indeed, all the staff were attentive, friendly and efficient. Beachgoers were all ages, including small kids. The Room: We had a deluxe suite. The kitchenette was adequate for a two week stay, but you may need to take a car or taxi a few times to the local grocery store (we went 3 times to Epicurean, the drivers waited while we shopped; we eat breakfast and lunch in the room). Attached are pictures of the fridge and utensils. The stove top was induction. TVs were a bit confusing; to use the remotes, just ask the front desk for a quick tutorial. Same with the unfamiliar room coffee maker (Segafredo). Everything in the rooms was clean and well kept. It was very quiet, even though our room was adjacent to the lively bar! One difficulty we had: although the room was bug-free, sitting outside on the patio we were often pestered by mosquitoes, which I guess is common in the Caribbean. The front desk is stocked with lots of insect repellent which you may need. Our room was on the ground floor, in a bit of a jungle (see picture) which may have contributed to the problem. Please note also there are no elevators. Restaurants: Excellent! Quick and friendly service and delicious food. The Salt Plage was a lovely place for an evening meal as the sun set. Take out coffee in the morning was delicious. We often got room service from the restaurant, delivered with speed and a smile. Other: The fitness facility is modern, clean and well equipped. Front desk staff very helpful arranging taxis and anything else we needed. We drank bottled water although I was told that the tap water was chlorinated and drinkable but might be unfamiliar to your system.
