− Staffing Newcastle are normally friendly and helpful. This time there was an air of irritation - an unwillingness to be helpful. Pulling a face but doing it anyway - that sort of thing. Just not used to it at Newcastle. Housekeeping knocking on my door at 9.25am….. I said I would check-out after breakfast which finished at 10.30am…. So just “why?” Horrible mugs in room still. Coffee machine dishes out the usual ( from these awful machines appearing in so many hotels)…..awful coffee! Real warmth was not there in staff - got hire car - picked up suitcases helped ( eventually after female telling me over and over shy she couldn’t…recovering from a broken arm…. Dismissing my cancer-damaged arm; permanent disability…). by a male member of staff….who was very pleasant. I then drove to the barrier - it would not go up. Jobsworth tone on the communication channel…. “Did you register the car in registration? - you have to do that to be able to leave”Give me a break!!! Em….. since that lady was on the counter when I came in for my cases and she knew it was a hire car…. Could she not have mentioned it? That is what I mean…… like I should have known! Why? Just had an unpleasant edge ….
