Warning of a SCAM
2.0WARNING of a scam. I am not one to put a bad review. I am all for acknowledging great service and giving credit where it’s due. We have travelled to about 40 countries and it’s our first time in the Dominican Republic. Upon grabbing our luggages at the airport, we were ushered to a desk. This gentleman said he works for the government and that they are promoting this TAN Resorts Marina Cap Cana. If we agree to visit the property, we will be given free breakfast and tour of the place and discount on our chosen excursions. He assured us it’s not selling time share. The first excursion was to Saona Island. The most disorganized experience. After being picked up at the hotel and dropped off at a meeting point, the tour guide (smelt like alcohol) said it will take 20 minutes for the ride to arrive. 45 minutes later, we see the newly dropped off group being ushered to a mini van and I asked what about us. The gentleman asked me to calm down when I pointed out the wait time and why we weren’t even called. Good thing Saona Island was beautiful. I said earlier that there was a scam. Our second excursion was for the buggy. Came to our lobby 15 minutes before pick up time and an hour later, nothing. We tried calling and texting the person from the airport where we paid all these, couldn’t find a solution or help in this situation. A staff from our own hotel (shout out to SANCTUARY CAP CANA) was trying to help us. She called several numbers and extension, messaged them at their what’s up number and NOTHING. No answer, no help, no resolution. They wasted our morning and left a sour taste. When you visit the Dominican Republic, get your excursions from your hotel. DON’T STOP at these desks at the airport and be lied to.
Scammers, will sell you time shares
2.0Got scammed by this hotel offered cheap excursion just to attend their presentation of time share (which they don’t want to admit it). One of the excursion did not pick us up. Ruined our vacation

6.0TAN resort could use some improvements, but overall a good experience with our family. Just not a lot of things to do - pool and billiards. However, Dairis was AMAZING. So friendly, fun, and helpful. I looked forward to seeing her every day!
