Great spot for cove access in La Jolla

Pantai Inn...Not a Good Choice or Experience
4.0Yeah...no! We booked the Pantai Inn based on reviews and the "five star" rating. Don't believe everything you read or what you see in the pictures. Professional photos and lighting can make anything look good. In person, it's another story. The "inn" is dated and needs complete renovation. Our room, #222, was musty and dank. While it had a nice view, that's about it. The carpet is old, the bathroom was tiny, smaller that an RV bathroom and the fixtures are mismatched, missing or old and rusty. The good...right on the beach, or at least right across the busy street from the beach. The bad...lots of traffic and noise. The ugly...house keeping dumped a bucket of water on the balcony above ours and soaked me while I was standing on our balcony enjoying the view. For $700 a night you're better off at the Hotel Del Coronado.
