Fantastic authentic hotel, great food, staff really friendly and close to the Devils arse music venue which we booked it

− There was no breakfast included and the tea and coffee facilities were poor not enough milk pots and the sugar satches had gone hard! The bin in the room had not been emptied either!

Adequate for a short stay, but not especially restful.
5.0Good central location in Castleton, convenient for a short stopover, and the pub itself has character. Staff were friendly enough and it is clearly very dog-friendly, which will suit some guests.
− This is really more a pub with rooms than a hotel. The room was adequate but had a noticeable dog smell, probably because the property is so dog-friendly. The main problem was the skylights: they had no blinds or curtains, so in June the room became bright from around 4.30am, making proper sleep difficult.

− Being very picky, maybe velux windows in the roof with auto blinds would be better on a hot day and early morning light.
