This is one of the most magical places I've been! My family and I stayed here on a trip to Guatape, and in addition to spending the night in the beautifully artistic (there's a delightful visual surprise around every corner!) Casa Encuentro itself, they were able to organize a full day tour for us that picked us up from Medellin, took us to El Penol and around the town of Guatape, then gave us a half-hour hike to a secret waterfall swimming place, and ended in a gorgeous eco-resort for more swimming and dinner. Then they took us back to Medellin the next day. The whole day was the most amazing experience, and Naty, our guide, taught us all about Colombia and Colombians as well as everything about the places we went. It was a truly magical experience!! But even if you don't do the tour, Casa Encuentro was the best place to stay in Guatape. It's about a 10-minute walk out of town, but that means it's overlooking a stunningly beautiful valley and the lake, with exquisite food and the kindest, warmest hospitality we received in Colombia - which is saying a lot! The only caveat I have about Casa Encuentro is that its comforts are relatively basic, but if you think of it as the eco-resort that it really is rather than expecting a five-star hotel, you'll be fine.

It exceeded our expectations. We had an incredible time, the view was breathtaking. Every morning we woke up to the most amazing view of the water and mountains. The owner of the hotel has done an impeccable job of creating a space where you can relax, recharge and reflect. We were in love with this place. The staff made our stay even more memorable. Highly recommended.

una casa boutique muy acogedora, lejos del bullicioso centro de Guatepe pero de muy facil acceso una motochiva cobra 4000 pesos por llevarte al centro nos quedamos en un cuartito muy pequeño pero con una vista tremenda hacia el lago, calma y tranquilidad se respira, el desayuno uffff tremendo excelente y muy abundante, la atencion por parte de Daniela y de Alejandro insuperable, muy amables y dispuestos ayudar en todo, sin dudarlo me volveria a quedar ahi, ojo son instalaciones muy rusticas n isiquiera hay tv pero vale la pena estar ahi de uno a 2 dias

Friendly people and beautiful views , bed was a little uncomfortable and price was considerably more than in the town centre. Overall , we were happy enough to stay one night.
