A marvellous breakfast and a lovely receptionist!!

It was a very last minute booking and the host was very accommodating.

− Overall building and decor, although clean, is a little tired.

The hotel met all my needs and it was great to be able too walk from there around the town

The hotel had an excellent location, in the town centre. The staff were friendly and welcoming and they allowed me to use my limited French language skills! Parking was not hard to secure, either outside the hotel or in adjoining streets. Breakfast was good value at 12 euros

− The bedroom was perfectly adequate in terms of size, view and facilities - with two exceptions. First, the fridge was not clean inside and had a broken shelf Second, the wash-hand basin had a crack in it and was a little insecure I should say - neither of these issues would prevent me from booking at Hotel de La Paix again!

The hotel was within a short walking distance of the train station (our means of travelling to Albert) and of the town centre. The staff were pleasant and helpful, and the breakfast including fresh croissants and bread hit the spot.

Traditional hotel, excellent location

This is a very traditional hotel in a great location close to the centre of town which has many restaurants. There is parking outside and plenty round the corner. The staff were very friendly. The staircase is quite steep and I had a large room on the second floor with a coffee machine and a microwave. The room was fine but the bathroom was starting to show its age. The room also has a comfortable armchair. Breakfast was good, the standard croissant, bread , coffee and fruit juice. I would stay at this hotel again.

Nice and quiet, staff very helpful, great location.

− Very hot in the rooms, that was due to the weather. Fans provided on request.

Location

− We arrived at 2pm to the hotel being locked up and no one there. Tried calling the mobile number that was left on the door and it was an incorrect number! We went out for the day and came back at 1800hrs for it then to be open with 1 member of staff. We didn’t like being lied to by staff. We were given a second floor room which was boiling hot, we had booked a room suitable for a dog and yet they gave us a room that would have been dangerous for us to open the windows as the dog could easily have jumped out the window from the second floor. The hotel was empty, we spotted one person only so there were plenty of rooms they could have given us. We booked and paid for two night but after neither of us getting a sleep and our dog panting all night with the heat it would have been dangerous to have stayed another night. Explained to the staff the reason that we were leaving and whilst sympathetic, did not offer an alternative room. They told us the manager would refund us our second night which we thought was fair. When we returned home they then changed their mind and refused to refund us, stating booking term was non refundable. We knew this but didn’t expect a room which was high 30’oC through the night that we couldn’t open the windows in!! Toilet looked like it had been there since the 1980’s and was in poor condition.Toilet seat was disgustingly! Would not recommend staying here unless desperate.
