Great place friendly staff and comfy beds

8.0

The hotel is great very friendly staff. The breakfast was brilliant great choice and good quality. The evening meal we had was very good, not a great deal of choice but what we had was excellent. Hotel location good, although it is I Gateshead it is only a short walk to the millennium bridge to get to Newcastle.

Brilliant hotel for a bleisure trip - great location, friendly staff and amazing breakfast

10.0

Incredible location a gem of a hotel that makes it easy to walk to the Glasshouse and the Baltic as well as a short hop across the iconic millennium bridge to the city centre. peaceful hotel with comfy beds and an amazing fresh breakfast from poach eggs to overnight oats and all the treat stuff too. Brilliant value for money with a proactive team that were friendly and genuinely warm and thoughtful making it really easy to stay for business. I forgot my charger but they had them on hand to borrow. I will be back to use for leisure and business. Great parking and easy access from the train and roads and apparently the airport is not far too

Good hotel in a good location at a good price.

Located just over the river in Gateshead this hotel is still within a few mins walk (over the nearby bridge) from all the Newcastle Riverside and city center attractions. (Or £5/6 by Uber/taxi) Suited to short stays. This hotel was clean and comfortable. Although we did not use it, a licenced bar and food is available within the hotel.

Fab staff but average facilities

6.0

What made our stay was the staff. They were all genuinely friendly and warm Geordie welcome maintained throughout the weekend stay. Its a decent enough base for a weekend break on a budget. What lets the place down is the facilities. Towels had holes in, shower gel empty, bedrooms weren’t thoroughly clean, lots of marks on touch points, beds smelled a bit stale and the twin beds aren’t fixed so if you sit up in bed it slides away from the wall.

The hotel was an average place to stay. Cannot complain about the quality of sleep, as the bed was comfortable and the place was quiet enough. However, the room was not particularly clean - a lot of dust and dirt emerging from under the bed, suggesting it's not been moved and cleaned in a while. The shower gel was missing from the room, did note this but was too late to get anything fixed for this. There is a lack of power sockets or USB's - none near the bed for mobile charging. Breakfast is expensive at £13.50. Also strangely didn't receive much attention from staff - when I was leaving, came to the reception desk, and although a staff member spotted me, did not come to the desk to collect the key or process check-out. Earlier on in the stay visited the reception and no-one was there, no-one came to assist either. Although a perfectly acceptable place to stay, I feel there are better quality hotels nearby, which have a slightly more attractive location and give better customer service.

Friendly Staff, Great Food and a Comfortable Stay

10.0

I really enjoyed my stay at Ramada Encore. The staff were amazing across the board, friendly, welcoming and genuinely helpful the whole time I was there. The room was good and the bed was very comfortable, so I had a really pleasant night’s sleep. The only small things I would mention are that the lighting in both the bedroom and bathroom felt a little dim and the juice machine at breakfast wasn’t really up to standard. Neither of these things took away from the overall experience though. I especially want to thank the lady at breakfast, I believe her name was Sam, although I may have that wrong. She was there from the 14th to the 16th and was so lively and chatty each morning. It was really nice seeing a familiar face each day, it just makes the stay feel more welcoming and personal. I also have to mention another member of the breakfast team on the 17th. It was Pancake Day and she was encouraging everyone to have pancakes, asking things like “Ooh it’s Pancake Day, are you going to have a pancake?” and “What’s your favourite topping?” It was light hearted, funny and made the atmosphere feel relaxed and human. A big thank you as well to the bar staff, I believe his name was John, again I could be wrong as I’m better with faces than names. He was lively and lovely throughout. On the first night there was a small disagreement between a man and a woman in the foyer, and the front desk staff handled it calmly and professionally, escorting the woman out of the building and resolving the situation quickly. The food was amazing too. I really wanted to try the soup of the day and when the chef came out and said it was curried carrot, my first thought was not sure about that. I tried it anyway and wow, it was absolutely delicious. The belly pork noodles with the BBQ Chinese style sauce were just as good. Would I come back? Yes, absolutely. A genuinely warm team, great food and a comfortable stay.
