The hosts were incredibly kind, remembering us by name, asking how we were, answering any requests we had. Room was very clean and even had a separate chilling area with a mini fridge. Breakfast was included with multiple options and was delicious.

− Nothing honestly, this would be the first place we would look at to book if we were coming back to Torquay

The owners were very welcoming and friendly and provided small unexpected treats which further enhanced our stay. The breakfast selection was first class and the full breakfast provided was exceptional. All the facilities were first class. We would like to return

We had a fantastic stay at Elmdene and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Before we arrived, I sent a message through to ask if there was any possibility of an early check-in due to a wedding we were attending. Kim replied almost immediately and kindly arranged for our room to be ready by 11am, which was hugely appreciated and made the day so much less stressful. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. Trev showed us to our room, which was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, spacious and had everything we could possibly need. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the shower was excellent, and thoughtful extras such as an iron and ironing board, hairdryer, sewing kit and shoe polish were a great help for two wedding guests. The service was exceptional. While we were out, our room was serviced and everything was restocked and we returned to find a delicious homemade cream tea in the fridge with a lovely note from Kim. It was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture that perfectly summed up the care and attention they put into looking after their guests. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice and a perfectly cooked full English, along with all the usual continental options. It was also lovely to see little extras such as fried bread and black pudding on offer, which you don’t often get. Without doubt, this is the best B&B we’ve ever stayed in. Kim and Trev clearly take enormous pride in what they do and it shows in every aspect of the experience. We would recommend Elmdene to anyone visiting Torquay without a second thought.
