1.0− After eating fish served for dinner at the hotel, I suffered a severe case of food poisoning. A hotel employee refused to call an ambulance, telling us that ambulances do not come to the hotel. After returning to Germany, laboratory tests identified a strain of Escherichia coli (E. coli) that is commonly associated with contamination from fish and seafood. My friend did not eat the fish that evening, and he did not become ill.
