Amazing hotel. Staff were all polite and friendly. Hotel spotlessly clean. All the restaurants were lovely .

If you’re considering Hotel Riu Karamboa, stop thinking and just book it. From the moment we arrived, every single member of staff was absolutely phenomenal. And I don’t say that lightly — every person we encountered brought warmth, energy, and genuine kindness that made the whole experience unforgettable. The cleaners, gardeners, bar teams, chefs, and restaurant staff all work tirelessly and always with a smile. There’s a real sense of pride and joy in everything they do, and it shows in every detail of the hotel. But what truly sets this place apart is the attitude to life. The team here doesn’t just deliver great service — they radiate a way of living that we could all learn from: relaxed, joyful, and completely stress-free. A special mention has to go to the incredible animation team. Their energy is unmatched — keeping guests entertained all day and then somehow turning around to perform amazing shows in the evening. Their enthusiasm is infectious, and they completely elevate the whole holiday experience. We came away with more than just a tan — we left with a new outlook on life: “No stress! Don’t be shy, don’t be lazy… just be crazy!” Thank you to every single member of the team for making our stay so special. We will 100% be back.

What a fantastic holiday! We’ve just returned from two sunny, relaxing weeks at this great hotel, and I wanted to share our experience—especially as some of the negative reviews online don’t paint an accurate picture. A lot of the poor reviews seem to be linked to a “no win, no fee” solicitor circulating on the internet. Because of this, some people are claiming to have fallen ill in the hope of pursuing compensation. Our experience could not have been further from these stories. ⭐ Food & Restaurants My wife is a restaurant manager for a well known UK brand, so she knows exactly what to look for. • Food was properly temperature checked and refreshed regularly. • Nothing was ever cold that wasn’t meant to be. • We never saw any hygiene issues in the dining areas. 🧹 Rooms & Housekeeping Our room was cleaned perfectly every day. The mini bar was topped up whenever needed—though I’m not sure why anyone would want to spend their holiday drinking in the room when the hotel has so much to offer! 🏊 Pools & Sunbeds Pool temperatures were spot on—refreshing in the hot weather. We did see a few people mishandle sunbeds, causing them to buckle, but we never came across any that were actually broken. 🦟 Flies (a very normal thing!) It’s a hot, tropical island—so yes, you’ll see flies outside. We saw none in the restaurant, only around the pool when guests left food out. You’ll get flies in the UK too… it’s just part of being outdoors. 🍹 All Inclusive Reality Some people eat and drink far too much on all inclusive holidays and then claim they were “sick” from food poisoning. From what we saw, gluttony is more likely the cause than the food itself. 🎥 Social Media & Solicitor Spam When my wife posted some lovely TikTok videos of the hotel, people started replying with the solicitor’s details to gain traffic. She eventually turned off comments because it became so obvious what was going on. ✔ Would we return? Absolutely—we’ve already booked to go back later this year. It really was a brilliant holiday, and we can’t recommend the hotel enough. If you’re on the fence after reading the negative reviews, just Google the hotel and the solicitor and you’ll quickly understand why these stories are appearing. A great hotel and a great holiday—you won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic stay in an amazing place !

At the airport on our way home after 11 nights in this wonderful place . We have had the best time . The staff were fantastic always smiling and enthusiastic, constantly cleaning. Food was great , always plentiful and hygienic . Beach was beautiful and Kulinarium and Asian restaurants were great . The italian not so good but we will definitely return .

Not what we hoped for

Visited 2 years ago, same time of year. Sadly, not the same experience. Staff seem disenchanted with the role they play, less chatty, less friendly, less interested. Hotel okay, room okay, drink choices limited, stayed in Sal at Riu palace last year, much happier atmosphere. Visited Italian restaurant tonight, disappointed with food, atmosphere and welcome like warm. Few more nights left, it’s okay but underwhelming

Hotel was ok, wouldn't say it was 5* Lots of flies and we couldn't eat outside, though this is because its Africa, also flies in restaurant and food area. We didn't use the pool areas very often but got beds on the beach which was very nice. Insect repellent is a MUST at all times. Food was ok, but if you went for lunch after 2pm food was being removed so that the restaurant could be cleaned and tidied ready for evening service. Although we went to relax and not sight see, we wouldn't return.
