Disappointing Experience Despite Strategic Location

The hotel location is strategic and the building is large. Although it is quite an old hotel, it is still relatively clean. Unfortunately, my stay was ruined by several very disappointing experiences. First, when I asked to borrow a plate and bowl, the hotel asked for a IDR 50,000 deposit, which I have never experienced in any other hotel in Indonesia. Second, when I accidentally stained the bed sheet due to an unexpected period, I immediately called the front desk so housekeeping could handle it quickly. I waited almost 2 hours and no one came, even though I called multiple times. Later I was suddenly told via WhatsApp that I had to pay IDR 1.2 million because they claimed the stain reached the mattress. When I asked for proof, the photos only showed the mattress protector, not the mattress itself. Lastly, at 11 AM (while check-out time is 12 PM), the receptionist called asking if I wanted to extend. When I said no, they told me to call for a trolley once my luggage was ready — which honestly felt like I was being rushed out. Very disappointing experience. Not recommended.

Spacious rooms and spacious bathrooms. The swimming pool and fitness facilities are also adequate. The parking area can accommodate many vehicles.

Dang! Business Stay Impacted by Unreliable Wi-Fi and Inattentive Staff

Dang! I was wrong to choose this hotel. Why? Wi-Fi at Wyndham Surabaya has been consistently unreliable throughout my stay. As someone here for business purposes, this has seriously disrupted my work especially important Microsoft Teams meetings, travel coordination, and timely correspondence. In today’s world, dependable internet isn’t a luxury, it’s a BASIC necessity for any hotel, especially one claiming to cater to business travelers. IT WAS NIGHTMARE. To make matters worse, staff attentiveness is lacking. Several requests were either ignored or met with minimal effort to assist. It feels as though guest concerns are not taken seriously & there’s very little proactive communication or follow-up from the front desk team. When you’re paying for a well-known hotel brand like Wyndham, you expect not only reliable infrastructure but also professional, responsive service. Unfortunately, this experience has fallen short on both counts & I find it incredibly disappointing. A hotel’s quality is not just about its name or location it’s about consistent service & support that meets guest needs, especially those staying for business. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously & addresses both the technical and service-related shortcomings. Lucky, my staff was coming to my room and he shared his mobile network to make my meetings easier until we had gym session together!
