Location

− Dirty,broken window and walls, old and dated in a bad way. Rude staff.

Dawson Awesome, the room less so

The location in the center of Dawson City. Dawson is incredible. The hotel is home to the famous Sourtoe cocktail with a real human toe, which was very cool. The people in Dawson were so friendly and there was so much to see and do.

− Our room was in the annex, which we knew beforehand. That was not a problem, it is a similar looking building just across the street. Our room however (and I’m guessing most rooms) had no outside window, just a window to the interior of the building. This made room a dark, damp and unpleasant place. Upon arrival the smoke detector beeped, we had to ask several times to get it fixed. But it was fixed. The next day our room wasn’t made. So the dark room looked even more uninviting. I asked about it at reception. She said sorry I’ll send someone over. Housekeeping came and said they usually only replace used coffee pads. She did make out room when I asked. When we left I saw a note in the room that due to worker shortages they don’t clean room during stays. OK, I should’ve read that. But I think the hotel should be more upfront and perhaps explain this at check in. I have sympathy for them having a hard time finding personnel and I would’ve felt different if this was explained. So my apologies to the housekeeping lady. All in all it felt more like a youth hostel or a dorm. I get that it’s and old building in a historic town. Perhaps they should adapt the decor to that. Make the interior a pension for gold seekers and all of a sudden a dark room without a window makes more sense.

Wir hatten das schlechteste Zimmer!!!!!!

− Zimmer 223 ist unerträglich laut!!!!!!! Direkt am Wirtschaftsraum, Getränkeautomaten und Eisautomaten, was Nachts los war, brauche ich nicht erwähnen. Fenster konnte man nicht öffnen, Klimaanlage so laut und klapperte. Der Wirtschaftsraum wurde auch nachts geöffnet und quietschte ohne Ende. Erst als mein Mann ihnen den Tipp gab, das Oel helfen würde, hörte das Quietschen auf!!!!! Die letzte Nacht war der Höhepunkt, die Hauptklimaanlage ging defekt und es Hämmerte die ganze Nacht. Wir haben 72-76 db, das selbst der Nachtportier nur den kopf schüttelte und sehr bemüht war, das Problem zu lösen! Das Hotel ist einfach zu teuer für diesen Service!!! Preis/Leistung stimmt nicht!!!!!

− Nothing really but if your room is on a second floor and you have a lot of luggage you might struggle

Somewhere reasonable to stay in Dawson City

The location was good, being central and close to all of the restaurants.

− Air conditioner in room had to be unplugged in order to shut it off. Carpet in room is always a bit of a problem for me. Street noise late at night. Steep stairs and no elevator.

Coole Optik von außen! Das Zimmer war groß genug.

− Der Empfang war ziemlich desinteressiert und mangels eines Fensters nach Außen gab es keine echte Frischluft.
