Great Hotel
10.0This was one of the best and most unique hotels we have stayed in. The art deco decor was fascinating and the large room with a sitting area was very comfortable. The mattress and pillows were perfect. We also enjoyed the shower.
Do Not Stay Here
2.0A horrible experience. I would not stay here and there was no value for the amount spent. Between the outdated and damages in the room, noise and the poor staff you will not like the stay
2 nights in town
8.0You have to understand this is a 100+ year old building with a hotel occupying one floor. The room we had was decorated nicely, was comfortable enough, was clean, but was drafty (so we kept the curtains closed trying to help insulate) and had a lot of old building noises. We were in town to attend a hockey game at Key Bank Center, and this hotel was within easy walking distance there (15 or so minutes) and to restaurants and bars for pre-gaming.
Quick night stay, will return!
8.0Hotel is in a good location, not too far of a walk to Key Bank Centre. Love the history of the building.. feels like you're stepping back in time when you walk in. Looks like there used to be a bar or lounge at one time, would be nice to have that back again as there's nothing really around the hotel itself. Room was on the smaller side, but for a quick night away you don't need much more. Room was clean although needs a bit of TLC. The hairdryer no longer hung on the wall in the bathroom, and there seemed to be a picture or something missing from the wall in the main room. Front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. Free parking just a quick walk down the street. Would stay again!
Don’t stay here
2.0Dark, dingy, dated, run down. Wouldn’t recommend. The Hilton across the street is much nicer. Zero staff presence to even lodge the complaints we had.
Brides beware! Horrible banquet experience
2.0We went to the hotel for a banquet. I have NEVER had such a bad experience in my life. For starters, the heat wasn't working in the greenhouse room and it was FREEZING. We all had to wear our coats. They had one tiny space heater on each side of the room as their solution. When talking to the manager about it she was very condescending and rude. Did not seem to care one bit that guests were uncomfortable. She said "the thermostat isn't working. We called and no one came." Then you go out of your way to get MULTIPLE space heaters or you figure something else out. It's 23 degrees outside. It was 56 degrees in that room. To add insult to injury, we never got fed. We were told there would be "appetizers served throughout the night"-first off there wasn't even a crudite table with cheese etc. as one would ecpect when it's just an appetizer event. Ok fine. But literally we didn't not see one person with a serving tray. I asked a waitress at 9:30 when we would be fed because our banquet started at 7 and we never got any food and she said "we've been serving appetizers all night" - well apparently they were only serving them to people on one side of the banquet room. If you were on the far side you were out of luck. So not only were we freezing, but we were also starving. Not to mention they had TWO bartenders for about 300 people. It took almost 40 minutes to get a drink. Additionally - there were out of order signs on the ice machines, hallways were dirty and freezing and the staff was downright rude. Absolutely do not advise anyone to host an event here. It was the worst event I've ever been to and for $120 I'm disgusted at the awful service we received.
