Cockroaches everywhere

3.0

The setting is genuinely stunning. Rangiroa’s lagoon, the light, the pass, the sunsets, the natural surroundings are world-class and the location on the water is hard to beat. The dive center is also great.

At around €1,000 per night we expected a luxury resort and got a property that appears to have been built as one roughly 30 years ago and left without meaningful maintenance since. Cockroaches were a constant problem, not a one-off. We found large ones repeatedly in our bungalow and in the dining room. On two separate occasions they fell from the ceiling: one landed on my head and into my hair, another landed directly on a plate at the table. I have photos. The bathroom smelled strongly of sewage, and the odour carried through the entire bungalow rather than staying in the bathroom. This was not limited to our unit, the same smell was noticeable in toilets across the resort. Fixtures, finishes and general upkeep are tired throughout. The nature is beautiful and worth the trip; this hotel is not worth anything close to what it charges.

Such a waste of opportunity! Dream location , worst execution

Location

Pretty much everything else. The worst food ever. A mediocre hotel experience that unfortunately is the only option to visit the incredible rangiroa atolls and its world class diving.

Un rafraîchissement de l’hôtel nécéssaire !

6.0

Is Hotel Kia Ora Resort & Spa really a five-star hotel?
