The location is superb. The apartment was comfortable. The balcony delightful.

Getting in after a very long journey was fine. There felt enough space for us even though it was a one bedroom apartment. The twin beds were very comfortable. It was clean and well appointed. Fantastic location with the pool in the complex and 3 minutes walk to the beach at the end of the street. The staff were friendly and responsive and we really enjoyed our stay and fully relaxed. Also the fact that the apartment is roughly half way along in the whole resort meant that walks to either of the other ends as it were became reasonable distances. It was also good that pretty much it was all on the flat. I have stayed before in VGR and it involved trekking into the hills above the town to get to the apartment because I misjudged the distance to the beach area. No small thing with bags of shopping or you are faced with a taxi cost. It was great not to have that bother this time.

− There were only a few issues. There was no kettle and we had to request one which was provided but after such a long journey of at least 18 hours from UK in all it would have been great just to be able to have a cup of tea immediately when we arrived! We had brought some tea bags. There was no microwave and though this is clear in the dense thicket of the details after booking it still felt a loss. Why no microwave? There were no cushions on the sofa or easy chair. This would have made the apartment even more comfortable and versatile and we couldn't understand why there were none. It was also quite irksome that our neighbours either side were smokers and so regularly when we would be having a meal on the balcony we got the secondary smoke coming into our area and this was annoying. The cleaning though very good was very intrusive. We generally had no notice of when they would call and felt pressured by their presence into agreeing that they could do what they wished to do. I wish there was a different way of arranging this. Eg that we were told that they would call on this / these days and at this / these times unless we said no in some kind of advance scenario? There are many ways of arranging this and we felt intruded upon. On at least one occasion they didn't fully lock the front door when they left which was also a concern. There was a do not disturb sign but it got damaged and then we seemed to lose it. I think just being informed in advance when they would call and having the option to ask for a different day / date / time would have been better. In practice though I think we would have just rolled with what they told us but at least we would have known? The point I am trying to get over here is that mostly the cleaners just came straight in eg using their keys and this felt very intrusive? Over the whole two weeks this is only really a minor issue and it didn't overly blight our stay which was generally delightful.
