Nice little hotel tucked away in a neighborhood
10.0I'm a native English speaker, but some of the hotel staff spoke limited English. I tried to learn as much as I could before my trip, and it was really helpful! I was able to communicate a bit with the staff. Everyone was friendly and took good care of my wife and me. The property was well maintained, and the pool was refreshing, especially considering how hot it was; it was not heated. The breakfast and coffee in the mornings were great, and the hotel was centrally located near stores and restaurants. We also used DiDi to have food delivered, and we had no issues with that service. My only concern was being charged an extra $20 per day. When I booked the hotel, I indicated that there was one traveler, not two, but I didn't think that would be a problem. However, the staff informed me it would cost extra when they saw me with my wife. There was no mention of this additional charge on the Hotels.com site, so I'm not sure if this is a standard practice in Costa Rica or varies by hotel.
