10.0Friendly staff and we saw the bears from our balcony

4.0Review of Our Stay The Good: The balcony offered a beautiful view of the Roaring Fork River flowing below, and we were lucky enough to spot bears walking along the creek on several days. The mattress was comfortable, and the rooms were spacious with plenty of room to relax. It's also an easy walk down the hill to reach downtown, which was very convenient. The Bad: The pillows were terrible—flat and uncomfortable. You'd honestly be better off rolling up a towel. The Worst: Housekeeping was virtually non-existent. During our entire week-long stay, the trash in our room was never taken out—we had to handle it ourselves. I had to go to the office at least three times just to get clean towels. No other cleaning or restocking was done at all. Additionally, the ice room was full of trash that remained there the entire week. Overall: While the view and location are definite highlights, the lack of basic housekeeping and cleanliness seriously affected our stay. Unfortunately, because of this, I wouldn't return.

10.0The balcony view was amazing. We saw a bear right under our balcony every day of our 4 night stay.

6.0Staff was rude. Had to wait 20 minutes to check in because no one was at the reception desk. And they weren't even apologetic about them not being there. The only thing that was nice was the balcony overlooking the babbling brook.

4.0The hotel is old and outdated on the outside which was fine if the inside was nice but the room smelled musty and damp the whole time we were there and even though the sign says no smoking it smelt like old smoke. I inquired about changing rooms and was told none were available. Their version of clean and mine are not the same. There were dead bugs behind the nightstand and I had to wear socks the entire time because the laminate flooring was so dirty it made your feet black. The only thing I liked about the place was it was within walking distance to the Lower half of the main strip in Gatlinburg and the stream behind the hotel was nice but we didn’t really want to be at the hotel because of the state of the room so we didn’t get to enjoy that much either. The tv had a green line through it on every channel and my MIL room was the same. The pillows are tiny so bring your own from home if you plan to stay here. There is a little coffee maker in the room but no pods or cups. I would not stay here again. I actually tried to find another place to stay but it is very busy here this week and most places were already completely booked that were in Gatlinburg, so we had to just make do.
