Location and Greenery

Location is convenient as it’s closer to road

− Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. * The cleanliness was below expectations. The bed linen and bathrooms did not appear to have been cleaned or washed to an acceptable standard. * I specifically contacted the hotel prior to arrival and requested a downstairs room due to wheelchair access requirements. The hotel confirmed this request; however, upon arrival, the staff were unaware of it. * We had booked accommodation with breakfast included, but the breakfast staff seemed unaware of our booking. * The plates at the breakfast area were dusty. * The fruit juice appeared stale and was not fresh. * Communication between hotel staff was poor, and overall customer service was not friendly or welcoming. I believe there needs to be significant improvement in housekeeping standards, internal communication, and customer service to meet guest expectations.

Staff should be further train to treat the clients and meal was good.

The meal was tasty overall. Breakfast was included in our package, although the selection was limited, it was still delicious. The garden was clean, nice, and well maintained. Dinner was also good. Altogether, we enjoyed the meals and the atmosphere.

− We were disappointed with some parts of our stay. The housekeeping staff member assigned to our room was not polite and behaved rudely towards us. We took dinner in the room before 10.15pm when we call to clean it anyone didn't answer. If emergency it's that so? Although breakfast was included in our package, the variety and quantity were limited. The vehicle parking area should also be closer to the hotel for guests’ convenience. Another uncomfortable experience was at the pool area. While my wife and I were using the pool, a staff member sat nearby and kept watching us, which made us feel uncomfortable. We hope these issues will be improved for future guests.

It had a pleasing environment that blended in with the surroundings. Food and drink were no problem.

− The heat was intense while eating in the restaurant. It was difficult to eat. It would have been better if it had been air-conditioned.

The price and Food.

− At night the tiny living lives are such as mosquitoes too much.

An enjoyable stay with one or two minor niggles.

The property is very well situated for visiting the important Buddhist sites of Polonnaruwa. It is set in attractive gardens with an excellent swimming pool. The rooms are airy and overlook the gardens. Our waiter and other staff looked after us extremely well and made sure we had everything we needed.

− Although the sleeping accommodation is well set back from the road, one out of the six in our group found the traffic noise a bit disturbing at night. The breakfasts were not very good. The hotel is geared for events. There were two weddings during our three-day stay which we actually enjoyed watching but they were a bit disruptive for regular guests.
