A great concept let down by poor execution.
6.0Comfortable beds, quality Malin + Goetz amenities and a family-friendly concept. The property has a great vision and plenty of potential. Great location. And the complimentary smores
− There was a disappointing gap between expectation and reality. The property looks far better online than it feels in person. For the price, the rooms were underwhelming, maintenance was lacking, the pool wasn’t clean or well maintained, and dinner service was chaotic and poorly organised. It was the accumulation of these small details that made the stay feel overpriced and not reflective of the boutique experience being marketed.
We will absolutely be coming back.
10.0The staff were unbelievable. Kind and inviting. Really made you feel like they wanted you there. Since the hotel did not have many guests that evening, they upgraded us and said we could stay in any room that was available for no extra charge. Who does that anymore? Callicoon does! What a breath of fresh air.
Nice in concept, poor execution.
4.0Lovely location.
− Staff was not hospitable. Walls and ceiling are thin. You can hear everything including when every toilet is flushed or shower is on. Nothing was open on a Sunday. No bar, no food. No fridge in the room so you couldn’t even buy anything and keep it in the room. Breakfast didn’t open the next morning until 8am. 8am?!
