El apartamento está bastante bien, es cómodo y está bien situado.

− Hay que recoger las llaves en un sitio que está lejos del apartamento. Si no tienes coche y vas con maletas no es nada cómodo. Te hacen firmar un documento en el que te obligan entre otras cosas a sacar la basura antes de irte. La cocina está equipada pero no tiene los mínimos de sal, aceite, azúcar para cocinar y el papel higiénico es muy escaso. Además el check in solo se puede hacer de 16 a 19 si no quieres pagar extra y el check out es a las 10. La persona de limpieza estaba allí a las 9:45 por lo que hemos tenido que salir corriendo y con prisas.

No breakfast.

− It was bad right from the start. We had to go to pick the keys at a different location. Upon entrance there was a strong smell (of air freshener) so we had to open all windows to air things out. Later we understood that they were covering up the stench in the bathroom. The blankets smelled horribly of mold. The pillows on the bed were hard and the extra pillows were knotty and broken. Was impossible to sleep as we had to keep the windows open to get rid of the mold smell and someone had a pet that shrieked all night. Dont expect the kitchen to have any supplies like tea of coffee or even salt. The only cleaning supply was a stinky, old sponge. And if all that wasnt bad enough there was no warm water for the two days we stayed. Lagos is a beach town and not having any warm water is unacceptable. My kids took cold showers and both caught a cold afterwards as a result. We were told to take trash out upon leaving (which we did) while there were banana peels and other trash in front of the stairs. It literally felt like living is a gutter. This place is a health harzzard. We stayed in Portugal for 2 weeks at several different places, which were all great. But with this place, I feel cheated out of my money.

Location

− We stayed at maritime discovery apartment. We booked this accommodation specifically for the kitchen facilities, doing a full grocery shop on arrival with plans to cook our own meals throughout the stay. On our very first night the gas ran out, leaving us without hot water or any ability to cook for the entire duration of our stay. Our groceries spoiled. We had no choice but to eat out for every meal, at significant unexpected cost, having already budgeted and planned around the kitchen access we were promised. On top of this, check in was later than the agreed time, and we arrived to find one of the beds missing both towels and bed sheets. What compounded our disappointment most was the complete failure of communication from the property. We called three times, emailed once, and sent two messages. Not one was responded to. It was only on the final day of our stay that we were able to get any acknowledgment at all, after walking 20 minutes to the office in person. Maintenance arrived that evening. Our last evening. The problem had existed from night one. We are genuinely disappointed. We were not asking for much, just functional facilities and basic responsiveness when something went wrong. We received neither. We emailed the company asking for a partial refund given the significant impact this had on our stay, and we hoped management took this seriously, however, have not heard back or received a response. We are extremely disappointed.
