A lovely relaxing cottage in a lovely part of south wales with great hosts

8.0

We stayed four nights , and were very impressed with the hosts who were both informative and friendly offering suggestions for places to visit .It was an excellent spot for visiting nearby coastal towns and villages . A welcome pack of goodies was also well received and informative booklet for places to visit in the area . The visitors book added to this sharing previous occupants suggestions and very positive feedback too . Many of whom said they would hope to return .

A good place to stay for exploring this part of Wales.

Two two cottages met our needs. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom clean. The location was quiet and the song of the birds a pleasure to hear. The owners were friendly and helpful.

Thw wifi and phone signal are both very weak, useful only for texting. It took an hour with a hairdryer to defrost the freezer in one cottage. It was so frozen up that none of the drawers would open.

Good location, nice interior, quiet nights

7.0

Stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage (the stable). Quiet, good location & not too far from the A487 so towns are within easy reach by car (this is a good location between Cardigan and Aberystwyth and close to New Quay and Aberaeron). It has a really cute interior. The host was friendly and left milk, butter, jam etc. The heating worked well so was very cosy. Nice to have an oven, hob and a dishwasher (dishwasher tablets provided). Nice clean linen. WiFi connection was a bit patchy dependent on what room you were in, but got it to connect and it worked fine for normal browsing. Really quiet at night. There are crows nesting in a tree nearby so these can be loud between sunrise and sunset currently (although the host did provide earplugs so has been considerate of this + farm animal sounds). Lovely views out of the front door. Easy parking & no long bumpy drive which is a plus. All in all did enjoy the stay.

To improve I would suggest: -providing a hairdryer -replacing the shower head as it’s damaged so isn’t working as well as it could do -washing shower curtains regularly -have a bouncier pillow available -check the toilet is refilling adequately (on short flushes it seemed to not trigger automatically every time) -look into why some lights are flickering -instead of foil in the oven suggest oven liners The main bedroom is very dark and you need lights on day or night which I personally am not a fan of because I like natural lighting, however I can understand why the skylight is covered as being woken up by daylight can also be not ideal! Would be nice to have something over the front door at night like a curtain to cover up the window in the door (although may not be practically possible)
