Chester is a lovely place to visit, and the location of Domus House was great. However, we have spent the last 3 nights basically sleeping on the side of a busy road. I can't stress enough how noisy it was! Not only that, but noisy people too, at all hours trundling passed thinking the entire street wanted to listen to their drunken drivel. You can also hear the apartment neighbours clattering about and slamming doors. If you do choose to stay here, bring earplugs and an eyemask. The 'studio' we had was clean and the bed really comfortable (despite having only about 8 hours sleep in 3 nights - so tired we left a day early as couldn't take another night of the cacophony!). There was a kitchenette but no actual place to sit and eat and only one chair. Odd. The bathroom was clean but needs a repainting, the shower was manageable but there was nowhere to put your bottles and stuff when showering. You could also only open the window about an inch which was so frustrating during a heatwave! Find somewhere better if you value your sleep.

Very nice apartment overall. Great location. Car parking available (but with extra charge)

− Very small kitchen. Don't count on laundry service unless you have lots of 1pound coins - very inconvenient.

Location

− The recycling bin was full when we got there. The bed sheet was too small and had lots of marks on it. There were no tea bags and the filter coffee was out of date. The sink in the kitchen area needs the washer replacing and the shower head rail was loose.

Comfort and convenience

The check in process was communicated well and was very smooth. The room itself was clean and very nicely decorated with a lovely view of the picturesque city walls and the river. The bed was super comfy, which is rare in my experience. I had an issue with the car park access but this was resolved quickly by the hosts. The place is also fantastically located to get to the city centre and the river.

− Being on a main road there is a bit of noise and the blinds don't block out much light so, if you're a light sleeper like me I'd recommend ear plugs and a sleep mask.

Great location, lovely studio ideal for a weekend stay and great communication for access etc.

The location was very good. The parking was reasonable £10 per night. We stayed for two nights. The parking has to be pre booked.
