Friendly staff, but not quite a 5-star experience
7.0The staff were very friendly, always smiling, and happy to help with anything. I really liked that the room was equipped with Alexa – being able to play music made it feel more like home and was very convenient. The location is great, and communication with the staff via WhatsApp was quick and easy.
− It didn’t really feel like a 5-star hotel. The tap water had a very unpleasant smell, so strong that our hands still smelled after washing them. Because of this, we ended up using bottled water even for basic things. Unfortunately, the complimentary bottled water provided by the hotel also seemed to have the same smell, so we didn’t feel comfortable drinking it. The pool water was extremely cold, making it unpleasant to swim. The pool area also wasn’t ideal for relaxing, as the sun loungers were constantly covered with ants. We also received a complimentary 15-minute massage with our booking, but it was by far the worst massage we had during our stay in Bali. On top of that, we felt like we had to chase the staff to arrange it. We had to ask about it ourselves, request an appointment, and even after getting one, we still had to wait. It felt as though our complimentary massage was an inconvenience, and we were repeatedly encouraged to purchase additional spa treatments so that we could have a couples’ massage at the same time instead of receiving the complimentary massages separately.
