Nothing. Would never go back.

− We booked a three-night stay but left after the first night because the room was simply not habitable for us. The strongest issue was the overwhelming smell of paint. The odour was so intense that both my partner and I developed headaches and felt nauseous after spending the evening in the room. We could not imagine sleeping there for another two nights. The mattress was equally disappointing. It was so worn that we could feel the springs through it. We even tried placing the bedspread underneath the fitted sheet to create some cushioning, but it made little difference. Neither of us slept well. What makes this experience particularly disappointing is that the host initially apologized and agreed to refund the remaining two unused nights. We appreciated that response and believed the matter had been resolved. Unfortunately, that promise was later withdrawn, and the refund was refused despite us leaving immediately because of the conditions. Bernadette was pleasant in person, and I genuinely wish the experience had been different. However, future guests deserve to know what we encountered. If you are sensitive to strong odours or expect a comfortable mattress, I would strongly recommend choosing alternative accommodation. We travelled throughout Ireland for several weeks and stayed in many wonderful places. This was, by a significant margin, the only accommodation we would not return to.

We booked this house for our mother and were beyond satisfied with the experience. It turned out to be a fully separate private accommodation with its own entrance, a spacious kitchen, bathroom with shower, and a separate bedroom. Bernadette was incredibly kind and welcoming, even leaving food in the fridge for the first days — including cheese, ham, yogurt, jams, and more. We were genuinely impressed by this level of hospitality. The kitchen was fully equipped with a coffee machine, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, and a wide variety of cookware and dishes. The house was warm, spotless, and had absolutely everything needed for a comfortable stay and more. Since we stayed for dinners with our mother in the evenings, we didn’t even need to pay anything extra for visits, which made things very easy. Bernadette also shared that her husband built many parts of the house himself, which explains the attention to detail and care in every corner. We highly recommend this place and would definitely return again. It is also very easy to reach from Ennis.
