Terrific location, with exceptional views. Hosts are friendly and considerate with a clear love of the area. Location is very good for experiencing Whitby and surrounding area. Good parking for 2 cars. House was a good size for our party of 5 adults. Whitby harbour in walking distance. House is equipped to a high standard and hosts provide lots of information about the area. Check in and out was hassle free.

− Although it's' a rule I understand and endorse as a non smoker, no smoking permitted anywhere on the grounds, even the rear garden. Was fine for our single smoker as the weather was exceptional and she didn't mind crossing the road to sit on the public bench but may be more of an issue if staying in the winter. It would not put our party off returning as this single nitpick is all I could really add here, we had zero complaints about our stay. Iain and his family have a clear love of what they do.

We had an excellent stay at Birds Eye View. We were a party of 9 aged between 12 and 85! Plus a small 4 legged friend! The house was spacious, spotlessly clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It was well-equipped, quiet, and felt very welcoming. The personal touches really made a difference. The thoughtful welcome basket was much appreciated, and our dog was made to feel just as welcome with blankets and biscuits waiting for her. The location was ideal, just a 15-minute walk into the centre of Whitby, making it easy to explore everything the town has to offer while enjoying a quieter setting. The owner was easy to contact and very approachable if we needed anything during our stay! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely book again. Highly recommended!

− None of us could fault Birds Eye View – we had a wonderful stay. If I had to be really picky, there are just a couple of small suggestions. A washing line in the garden would have been useful, as we found the clothes airer a little unstable and it kept falling over. As a Nespresso lover, I'd also love to see the coffee machine updated, although that's very much a personal preference! It might also be helpful to include a few sentences in the house information about using the BBQ, as future guests would probably appreciate a little guidance. These are only minor suggestions and certainly didn't detract from a fantastic stay. We'd happily return and highly recommend Birds Eye View.

A delightful stay in a beautiful house overlooking the sea.

It was very stylish, elegant and homely . It was beautifully decorated & interesting inside and out with great social spaces and a fabulous garden. There was lots of room for our family of 3 generations . The views of the sea & promenade were delightful.
