Short break to get over bereavement….
6.0Great location.
− Responses from owner were slow, I emailed asking about walks in the local area no response. Had to chase via text for entry codes and minor issues. Log burners hadn’t been cleaned upon arrival and no tools to do so. So had to use our hands. No smoke alarms or carbon monoxide alarms, no plug for the bath and bath looked like its best before date so wouldn’t have used anyway. Nob to work oven broken, as was the dial on hot water control. Sleeps six but only sofa seating for x4. One frying pan and one pan. Struggled to cook a full English. One toilet roll. Cleanish on arrival but would’ve passed no ‘4 in a bed’ inspection. Beds comfy. Cafe next open door open until 3.30 went at 2.45 to get coffees and cake it was closed.
Freezing cold no hot water no showers
1.0The house was nice in a good location
− It was freezing cold there was no heating the host came up with 2 different stories it needed pellets then the previous visitors had turned it off at the mains. We had to go out to get coal for the burner not even any logs provided for us. He wouldn’t even answer the phone it was absolutely freezing cold I have contacted the host several times I wanted some sort of refund there was no hot water either we couldn’t have a shower He claims he didn’t see the messages and missed calls until the next day when we were leaving It really did spoil our time there I would not recommend this host to anyone else
Superb
9.0Surrounding and overall feel of the house.Scott was very helpful when we could not get in.
− It was hard to get in the house. The instructions could have been more detailed and specific to avoid confusion and hassle. Our bedroom door need to be fixed as it is too tight against the carpet. It was difficult to open and close. The main bathroom also needs curtains. It was uncomfortable to use it and take a bath with clear windows.
A beautiful location - really good value for money.
