Es un lugar peculiar en el buen sentido, las habitaciones bien equipadas y calientes y en el piso bajo hay un pub y te invitan a una cerveza. Elmiueblo es espectacular, merece la pena visitarlo

Localisation en plein centre. Petit déjeuner correct.

− Suite à un orage, il a plu dans la chambre (plafond). On nous a juste donné une bassine pour récupérer l"'eau et rien d'autre ne nous a été proposé, alors que nous avions encore 2 nuits à passer. La salle de bain partagée était inutilisable (douche) et nous devions utiliser celle de l'etage en dessous, soit 1 salle de bain pour 5 ou 6 chambres. Notre chambre était au 3ème étage sans ascenseur, attention pour les personnes âgées ou avec des difficultés pour marcher. L'hôtel était dans son jus, la chambre était propre mais les couloirs, escaliers et hall assez poussiéreux.

Fabulous friendly Hotel, no frills.

Friendly staff ( young lady on reception even returned my car keys to my room in person). Old fashioned yes but full of character. Various priced rooms with breakfast options available. Handy situated on the high street with a huge range of food options available locally. Clean, comfortable beds. Fantastic value.

− Through no fault of hotel no lift available. Only one of two shower rooms working.

It was fine, but a few issues that made it disappointing overall.

Good central location with lots of parking nearby. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. Complimentary drink and sweets on arrival was a lovely touch.

− We requested rooms near each other but were put in rooms on different floors and opposite sides of the hotel! It appeared that a full breakfast was included but it was only a continental with the option to buy a full cooked breakfast. The coffee at breakfast was instant and not very nice. There wasn't enough pastries so by the time we came for breakfast on our last day, the only options were toast and plain cereal or an apple. Because of the central location we were kept awake the first two nights by people leaving the pub. Earplugs were provided but not comfy to wear when sleeping. There was a price list on the wall that let us know that we overpaid by double by booking online! When I messaged the host before booking, they didn't mention this possible discount to me.

Great value for money … would definitely come back!

My room at the Carlton hotel was a pleasant surprise. It was plenty large enough with an excellent ensuite. The room was private and the four-poster bed was super comfy. Staff were mostly excellent, very positive and knowledgeable although one was lacking a little in charisma. All in all, thoroughly recommended!

− My room was on the second floor and the window was not lockable… that’s about all I was concerned about.
