Great family holiday!
8.0Location was excellent, caravan had great extras that you wouldn't get outwith private hiring. Private garden area was great for the kids. It was in a quieter area which was great but 5 mins away from the main complex. The van was very spacious and plenty room for the kids. We tend to use the park as a main hub and have days out so it was in a great location for going to Alnwick etc. Great communication by owner. All made for a great family holiday and would definitely stay again!
− Wifi wasn't great, was difficult to watch tv and kids couldn't really use tablets etc. Tried to watch dvd's but were saying wrong region so couldn't watch them. There was also a slight smell of dog but I know that this caravan does accept pets so could be from a previous guest. None of these affected our stay dramatically(wifi was a bit annoying) but I know there was also uk wide issues initially. We also never contacted the owner about any of this as again, it wasn't enough to affect our stay. I understand there's been a change over of owners so maybe just small teething problems. I would say the play pass issue was annoying. This is more so on Haven as we couldn't buy them online with the code(Haven say it's due to our stay was Mon-Thurs instead of the usual Mon-Fri). We then had to buy them when we arrived - not an issue but it wouldn't show on the app so we could only book them at the hub and it meant by this point, most things were sold out. I don't know if there's a solution round this as I've never booked private before. Again this seems like more of a Haven issue.
We loved our stay
10.0Lovely caravan , en-suite main bedroom with added bonus of a tv in bedroom with Netflix

8.0Great communication with David. Accommodation had everything that you could possibly need, even an air fryer! Lovely surroundings with the lake. Great family stay
− Door was difficult to lock
I should have researched better, it’s on a Haven park, which is great for families but very noisy and busy
5.0The caravan was nice
− Bird poop everywhere lots of wasps.
Disappointing to say the least
1.0The site is a great base to explore the Northumberland coast.
− The caravan was dirty and smelt. The fridge was dirty, we had to clean it. The fixtures and fittings were broken and the bedding, quilt and pillows and upholstery stained. The cleaning team were contacted but offered little remedy other than to replace the broken kettle and leave a bristle brush behind for us to remove the cob webs. You are given an hour window to contact the cleaners on your arrival. The lamp in one of the bedrooms was smashed and the wall covering peeling off. The potent smell of airfreshners used to disguise other smells was overwhelming. The glasses needed washing before they could be used. The water is too hot in the shower, certainly for a child, and it couldn't be made cooler with the shower bar control. The toilet seat is loose in the ensuite. What is interesting, is that these two issues were noted by a previous guest last year, written the guest book in the caravan. So months later, these problems remain. I could write more, the pictures say it all. We cleaned the caravan while we were there and cleaned it again as we left, so those following our stay, will probably disagree with these comments. We have been offered £40 as compensation. Just be aware that all that is seen in the advert is not what you get. It was not the start we'd hoped for to our holiday. However, our experience isn't yours, if you continue with your holiday, enjoy Northumberland and what the site has to offer.
