9.0To start with, the room was really big, with a nice (limited) seaside view, and the public onsen was as you should expect from a proper Japanese onsen hotel. Private onsens available, alongside a scenic cave, and the usual entertainment you would find in a ryokan or similar. Free parking and free WiFi, plus decent breakfast, and impeccable service from staff. All at a very sensible price.
− First of all, none of the staff can speak any English whatsoever. On the upside, this means that you will have a chance to practice some Japanese. The building and room are both also a bit on the older side of things, but still well-maintained, and no mould or anything like that. Both inside and outside it looks like a stereotypical "onsen-hotel" you might see in Japanese media, so I would call it charming, and the WiFi is 5G (and a lot better than what I got last time I went to the states and stayed at a fancy new hotel). The location is a bit rural, but once again, could be seen as charming rather than off-putting.
