Lovely quaint cottage

8.0

The cottage was quaint and lovely, the host was very helpful. Everything was lovely and clean and the chocolate stand was a lovely surprise as were the biscuits. Overall a lovely place to stay, area was beautiful and we had a lovely time.

Not that we did not like, but a few bits and pieces for people to know. The garden was separate, so we couldn't let the dog free out of the back door. If you are tall, you need to be wary that the staircase ceiling is very low at one point. Just a note that both the fish and chip shop and pub are closed, I know that this is not the fault of the owners, but we were hoping to eat out without driving. Just be wary if bringing young children that the cottage is on a very busy main street.

Very good stay.

The property was very nice. The fireplace was beautiful. The kitchen equipment was excellent, you can cook anything, literally. The backyard was cosy with flowers. The overall stay was very good. Even though the town itself does not provide much the location was a good base around the area.

The stairs were narrow but we understand that is typical of an old cottage but something to take in consideration for people with limited mobility. One suggestion for improvement is the mattress in the double bedroom which was sagging.

Cosy, comfortable cottage. Great base for walking the Yorkshire 3 peaks. Lots of nice homely touches.

A wonderful anniversary away

10.0

We loved the whole cottage! The owners had thought of everything that guest's could possibly want and more! The hot chocolate station was a fantastic touch! Unfortunately with me being pregnant and struggling with food etc at the moment, I wasn't able to enjoy it, but next time we visit I most definitely will be! 😍 The amount of information on the area, different walks, places to eat etc was fantastic! Loved looking through the folders and think it's brilliant that the maps are able to go out with you individually. Apple yard cottage really was a home away from home, and we absolutely loved it! 💜 We went for our wedding anniversary, and would definitely like to come back again with our children. Our very large dog, Bruno, loved it too! His favourite spot was in front of the fire chewing on his bone or sleeping! He also loved the gravy bones that were there for him, definitely a happy boy! 🥰 🐕 Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! And we look forward to coming back in the future after baby arrives 🙂

There was nothing to not like.

Liked the location which was close to walks and popular tourist attractions. Very cosy house, settee and bed was very comfortable and clean. Had all necessary accessories and more! Dog friendly with blankets for settee, dog treats, lead if needed. Felt like home from home.
