Both of the Villas smelled like human waste due to poor maintenance - the property manager at first refused to acknowledge the smell, then said that the smell was normal. For a property of this price and caliber, it doesn’t matter where on Earth you are, you should not smell human waste permeating though the entire home due to poor engineering or maintenance. Furthermore, the company that manages the property refused to acknowledge the smell, then pivoted and said the smell was normal, and offered no apologies or discounts. Super disappointing to stay in a luxurious Villa that has basic plumbing issues. Not worth the price. Additionally, the company advertised 8 guests per villa, and then charged me more when I showed up with that number of guests. Stay away

Great experience. Host was nice and accommodating.

Good facilities provided. All amenities were of high quality, like shampoo and hand wash, etc. Surrounding environment was exceptional and beautiful to live in. Need more time to take in all the facilities provided.

A bit far to travel to, but not too bad because you're driving in beautiful scenes. Some operation in the house were hard to get around because it's all in Japanese. There were no food or close by convenience store. You will need to cook or prepare yourself a meal before hand.

Our stay at Villa Rubeshibe was absolutely wonderful. It has beautifully designed interiors, and was the perfect size for our multigenerational family of 8 - 2 adults and 2 kids took the bigger family-sized Japanese-style room with ensuite bathroom, 2 adults in the second room and another 2 adults in the 3rd. There is a huge living room and couch where we lounged after dinner, and an 8-seater dining table where we gathered over meals. We stayed in one of the nights and made dinner comfortably because of a lack of restaurant options on a Monday night in Biei. Two-in-1 oven and microwave (would reco only using one function at a time, the residual oven heat would be too hot for microwaving something), 4 stoves, lots of kitchen utensils and serving plates, a wide variety of wine and sake glasses (white, red, burgundy, champagne flutes, sake pot and glasses etc). The host was great, walking us through the property and explaining how to use the various amenities upon check-in, and sending us off on check-out. We also appreciated all the little touches - many complimentary bottles of juice and bottled water, the nespresso machine and capsules in the kitchen AND every single room, herbal tea from the region, etc. There is also a large jacuzzi tub with jets - use it!!

It would have been great to have a shower in the upstairs bathroom instead of just a toilet but not a dealbreaker.
