Very Disappointed, surprised that booking.com is unaware of the shortcomings of this place.

The location for visiting Rosemoor gardens was ideal.

− website states Inn open from 12.00 to 3.00., not open at 2.45pm. Ourselves and one other staying guest arrived at 2.45 site closed. knocked on door twice no answer. At 3.02 door opened, landlady stated"it would have been more convient if you arrived at 4.00pm". Showed us to our room from beer barrel filled passage way through heavy fire door, up very steep stairs to our room. Then returned with a pre order breakfast form, stating no food tonight (Tuesday). Breakfast, which we did not know was not included, was £13.95 each, wether you had slice of toast and coffee or full english with all trimmings, fruit juice, cereals and very full english breakfast. She came back again to ask if it was our car parked in the middle of her car park, I said yes, "well then move it." There were two others cars there, room for 12 and we had parked so we could see when she opened front door. We went out for a meal, locking our room door, when we returned the TV in our room was turned on!!! Later all though there were only two people in the pub, the music controlled from Bar was coming from underneath us, heavy rock music until 10.30. landlady had told us she would close up at 10.00pm not so, could not sleep until music turned off. We did not have breakfast but went out again locking our bedroom door. On return we found no effort had been made to service room, bed unmade, tea coffee and milk not replenished, bath room not cleaned or tidied. Again loud music from bar until 11.15pm without a thought for paying guests above. Very disappointed at £208.00 certainly not the cheapest, add in £28.00 per day for breakfast £264.00 for two nights. Simply not worth it. When we left at 9.00am we saw no-one, simply got in the car and drove of. We do not make a habit of leaving poor reviews, we believe other potential customers have the right to a true and honest review, which we have just given. Booking.com should be checking this "Inn" again very soon.

very comfy bed, spacious room with sofa and little fridge with fresh milk for drinks. spacious bathroom with shower food was well priced and cooked nicely - the chips with the venison burger were very good indeed

Great customer service, excellent breakfast, friendly staff, including Devon the dog! Recommend the home made pies! Spotless room and bathroom, spacious and comfortable. Would stay again if in the area. Thanks, Mike and Carol.
