A stay that could have been better
7.0The host was very nice.
− The food was expensive and mid. It was also very warm and the windows were closed when we arrived.

9.0The character of the room, in an old - possibly very old - pub building. Although the room was small, the ensuite was generous and well equipped. I arrived too late for dinner, but to judge by the crowd on a Thursday night it would be worth booking if your schedule allows. The Adnams beer is excellent - particularly Ghost Ship. Full English breakfast included, with homemade marmalade. A happy smiling welcome. Old Harwich is worth a stroll, with many interesting old buildings and maritime sights.
− Nothing about the accommodation - only the need to catch a train from Harwich International (where the ferry docks) to Harwich Town, a 7 minute walk walk from The Alma. I overlooked that.

− Inflexible with early breakfast
Mooi oud pand met weinig luxe op een prima locatie.
6.0Mooi oud pand. We hadden een 2-persoonskamer waar een extra bed voor onze zoon bijgezet zou worden. Het bleek echter dat hij een aangesloten extra kamertje had met meer privacy! Erg prettig!
− Het is allemaal wel erg oud. Slechte wifi die steeds wegvalt. Veel lawaai van de keuken en bar die er direct onder zit. Sommige lampen functioneerden niet.
Vooral heel erg gezellig!
8.0Gezellig locatie voor hotel, in de pub waarbij je echt kan zien dat ze er moeite in hebben gestoken om er echt wat moois van te maken! Hele fijn en vriendelijk personeel ook!
− Kamer waar wij zaten was erg heet en je had tot wat later in de avond wat geluidsoverlast van de keuken - wat op gegeven moment wel stopte dus opzich prima. De badkamer was prachtig maar geen glas scherm dus water loopt wel de hele badkamer in - iets van een trekker waarmee je het droog kan trekken na het douchen zou wel een goeie aanvulling zijn.
