Lovely staff but wouldn’t book again.

On arrival the staff were exceptionally welcoming. Free car parking on site. Pub and restaurant on site with live band on the Friday. Beds were comfy. Water available in fridge. Chef was prepared to do me an individual dish had we ate there which was lovely. There seemed to be regulars in the pub who were also welcoming.

− There was a putrid smell on the corridor and in the en-suite. We were told some works had been ongoing with the drains? There were a few air freshener plug ins on the corridor but didn’t mask the smell. Decor is very tired and chipped in the bedrooms and the corridors are small with no windows so could do with brightening up. Cleanliness is not good, cobwebs in all corners, carpet not hoovered, paintwork could do with a clean down and outside windows washed. Bathroom really smelt and the shower temperature fluctuated from ok to scalding and was a tiny area to shower in. The rooms could do with someone doing an inventory to check for cups and glasses after people check out as we had one cup and one glass for two people. I did ask for two glasses which were given.

Disappointed. Ideally placed, staff nice but sadly not value for money.

Excellent size apartment, two bedrooms and fans in each room.

− Sadly the breakfast time offered was too late and limited - 10:15 to 11:00 - particularly as room was supposed to be vacated by 10:00. Wifi unavailable/not working. Moved the bedside cabinet as bedside light not plugged in - wished I hadn't. Very busy road outside but couldn't close windows enough to muffle the sound even though on the upper floor.

Convenient but odd

We chose this place for convenience, good atmosphere and it was in the location where we wanted to be. The room was ok …. Nothing fancy, the bed was comfy and it was a decent size.

− The room was very noisy due to it being at the front of the building on the main road , the tv was not working and the bathroom was tiny . We chose a room in a local pub so that we could eat and drink without moving. However even as residents we were told they were not busy enough to stay open and were given last orders at 9.45pm . Then we were told if we went out of the building the bar staff didn’t have the code for the door for us to get back in !! There were no bar snacks ie: crisps or nuts and were given a glass full of nuts to take upstairs to our room with our drinks at 10pm …… All very bizarre

You had great staff and very good food but your rooms are not acceptable in comparisson.

Food and Staff great. Only feedback was drinks we never had on the bill, this was removed. That from an operational perspective that’s not acceptable, I mean more than three different drinks?

− The room was not really fit for purpose. We stayed the night of the England game so accepted the noise, but not to be able to open the window after the match was extremely hot with a fan that didn’t help. In the morning tried to have a cooling shower that did not work (I am not a plumber but nothing happened no matter which way you moved the buttons and it was not connected to the bath taps. Spend some budget on your rooms. The next night in our next restaurant with rooms was a 10 compared to a 0.

Bedroom size & bed was comfy.

− Paid for private bathroom, but it was shared. They didn't have record of my Booking.com booking. Booking.com said there was optional extra of breakfast, but this isn't an option that then hotel provides. Booking.com need to ensure their adverts are accurate.
