We loved the location and how quiet it was. Like a little jungle oasis with a soundtrack of insects and birds. So peaceful. Natural simplicity is my cup of tea. Loved talking to Penny and hearing a bit of his story and the history behind the place.

− I'm not an AC person, and can tolerate hot temperatures with a cold shower and a fan before sleeping, but my partner is a bit less tolerant. He had a bit of a tough time but was still able to sleep! In retrospect I would ask if there was a stand up fan available for use - in order to compliment the overhead fan. A pretty minor thing "to not like'.

An Unforgettable Authentic Jamaican Escape

Normally I tend to stay in all inclusive, boutique or star resorts with a more traditional luxury feel, so this stay was completely outside of my comfort zone. However, it ended up being one of the most memorable places I have ever stayed. Mr Penny was absolutely amazing from the moment we arrived. He gave us such a warm welcome and took the time to share the history of the property and the surrounding area, which made the experience feel even more special and authentic. Although the property is tucked away in the depths of the jungle and we were greeted by a baby gecko on arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and well thought out everything was. My biggest concern before arriving was mosquitoes, but I did not get a single mosquito bite during the entire stay. The mosquito nets on the windows, the fans providing cool air, and all the little details showed how much care had gone into making guests comfortable. You would definitely need a car or some sort of transportation to reach the beaches as the priority is almost at the end of the island, it is however walking distance from Ricks Cafe which is famous for its cliff-diving. The outdoor shower was such an amazing experience and made the stay feel truly authentic and connected to nature and Jamaica itself. The water was always beautifully hot, the property felt incredibly safe as it is located within a gated community, and once inside you feel completely secure. Overall, it was a peaceful, unique, and unforgettable stay that I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for something different and genuinely special.

− The only thing I was disappointed about was not getting the chance to experience the restaurant, as I had read so many amazing reviews about it before arriving. Unfortunately, because we visited out of season, it was closed during our stay. Mr Penny proudly told us he is a ‘jerk master’, so we will definitely have to return during season to try his famous jerk for ourselves. Aside from that, there honestly was not anything I disliked about the stay overall.

Sehr schönes Gelände und tolles Haus. Nur leider kein Strand, obwohl es in der Beschreibung auftaucht.

− Die Zimmer sind unter der Decke miteinander verbunden, man hört alles, was im anderen Zimmer passiert. Sehr viele Mosquitos. Man braucht unbedingt ein Mosquitonetz zum Schlafen! Wie hatten welche dabei, also alles gut.
