A lovely gem in Chiang Khong
10.0This little place has one of the most amazing views. I couldn’t stop spending time on the little balcony, it was such a lovely spot to sit, relax, and take in the scenery. The riverside promenade just across the street is also beautiful and perfect for a walk or simply enjoying the view. The location is excellent, with great cafés, restaurants, and ATMs all within walking distance. Make sure you have some cash with you :) The owners are absolutely wonderful, so kind, welcoming, and helpful. The lady who owns the place even offers a small breakfast every morning, which is a lovely touch. I honestly didn’t want to leave. One thing to keep in mind is that there isn’t an elevator, so you’ll need to carry your own luggage up to the second floor. It wasn’t a problem for me, but it’s worth knowing if you have heavy bags.
− The only thing to keep in mind is that, because the property is surrounded by nature and close to the river, there are quite a few mosquitoes and other insects, especially in the evening. This isn’t an issue with the guesthouse itself, it was clean and well maintained, but it’s worth bringing insect repellent so you’re prepared.

8.0Very friendly and helpful. Word of advice whilst it does cost slightly more for this family to arrange the transfer over the bridge, down to the port and the boat trip ahead. I regret saying no as it really wasn't that much more expensive than paying ourselves, we had a lot of stress getting through ourselves and the tuktuks at Laos customs overcharge but you can't negotiate as they just refuse to take you. Save yourself the hassle. Family also made us tea and toast even though breakfast not included.
