Comfortable and peaceful
10.0Very quiet and relaxing place with a lovely view over lake Ashi. Spacious room with comfortable beds and a lovely outdoor balcony where the hot spring was also located. Great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

− Disappointing Dinner. We booked dinner at the last minute after the hotel confirmed it was possible. Unfortunately, the very expensive meal felt basic and improvised, while other guests received much better dishes. The clearest example was dessert: they received proper desserts, while we got only a few tiny pieces of fruit with "wine" jelly (tasted like just water). The waiter later admitted this was because of our late booking. We would have preferred an honest “no,” a warning, or a reduced price. Apart from this, the hotel, staff, and service were excellent. I believe they meant well, but sometimes trying too hard to accommodate guests can create a worse experience than simply saying no.

− The restaurant serves the pre-set course of French cuisine though of a very high quality but there is no choice. You are served what you are served. Wish there was a choice for breakfast as breakfast is also pre set.

10.0First off, the staff was amazing! Incredible friendly and attentive. The room was amazing, very spacious and clean. The view of the lake was stunning and the Onsen very relaxing. The shuttle service was very nice option (just do not be stupid like us - let them know on advance when you came with big luggage.) Probably also the most scenic smoking area I had during the whole trip. The dinner and breakfast were very delicious as well! (Just FYI, only water is included, other drinks are paid extra) Its about 15 minutes (walk + bus) into the town and to the lake. Just a lot of tourists and the bus back to the hotel goes to Odawara station, which means its crowded and the queue was huge - ended up taking a taxi (1.200 yen)
− Only booking a one night stay - the tranquility this hotel offered was perfect at the end of our trip.
