7.0We stayed at this hotel for 13 days and overall had a very enjoyable stay. The property was clean and comfortable, and the majority of the staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating.
− Our only concern was the arrival and check-in experience. Although my wife was listed as the main guest on the reservation and had arranged airport pickup for herself, there seemed to be confusion regarding the booking, as the driver arrived expecting me instead. Upon arrival, the receptionist, Elle, appeared focused on my arrival rather than my wife’s check-in, despite her being the registered guest. When she asked about early check-in, she was quoted PHP 1,000 per hour before 2:00 PM, which felt excessive, especially considering our nearly two-week stay. After a long journey, my wife also asked where she could change into more comfortable clothing and was directed elsewhere without much assistance. When requesting help with three heavy suitcases containing diving equipment, she initially felt her concerns were dismissed until another staff member kindly arranged assistance. There was also little guidance regarding the room location upon check-in. What stood out most was the difference in interaction. During check-in, Elle was reserved and communicated primarily in English, even when my wife spoke in Tagalog. After I arrived several days later, Elle became noticeably warmer, more engaging, and began conversing with my wife in Tagalog. The contrast was surprising and made the initial welcome feel inconsistent. I would like to emphasize that all the other receptionists and staff members were excellent throughout our stay. Because the rest of the team provided such great service, the issues above stood out even more.
