8.0Location,- shops, pubs frequent bus service to town nearby.Racecourse nice for walking.Room was cool during hot weather.Kettle great and tea Milk, tea coffee packets etc by main door is a big improvement.Breakfast is fantastic.Way better than USA.
− No small fridge in room.No bottled water. Stepping in and out of bath a bit tricky for elderly. I’m 75.Could some rooms have walk in showers? Ive been staying several years - the carpet is a bit aged.New bed arrived during my stay -very nice.Cleaner very efficient and friendly.
York is a great town to visit and we enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
8.0We had stayed at this hotel in 2023, the facilities have since been upgraded and it was pleasant surprise to see that the whole bar, restaurant and breakfast area had been totally refurbished. The fact that the car parking is free and there is a local bus stop close to the hotel means that you can leave your car safe and secure and use local transport to visit the town centre. This year we made a visit to the National Railway Museum, for which my wife was not too keen, but we both thoroughly enjoyed whole experience.
− There was nothing to dislike. We both enjoyed the stay and would definitely choose this hotel again if we return to York.
