Perfectly located in the centre of Gioia, set within picturesque narrow streets of this gorgeous town with it’s white-walled buildings and just a short a stone’s throw from the town’s main piazza. The piazza is lively with a typical church, one or two coffee shops and, at weekends, some market stalls selling local farm produce from the region: we bought nuts and sun-dried tomatoes to bring home with us. Our room at the Ciacco annexe was spotlessly clean with crisp white sheets on a large double bed plus a single bed in a separate room which was a perfect arrangements for me and my sister. Bathroom arrangements were also good with a beautiful marble waterfall-style large basin and two giant mirrors separating the main bedroom area from the en suite arrangements. Best of all, the friendliness of the Ciacco’s owner, Isabella made this stay special for us. Isabella and her husband, Pino, came to meet me on arrival at Bari airport. Both were super-friendly and helpful, easy to chat to and a true pleasure to meet. Thank you Isabella for your wonderful hospitality.

− Breakfast was minimalist (post-Covid arrangements, apparently) with packet-type croissants and cakes with jams plus a coffee machine in the room. After our first day we discovered fresh coffee served in the lobby of the main section of the Ciacco, this was a lot nicer for us. We had issues with the wifi at the Ciacco and, despite attempts by the hotel, these continued, unfortunately.
