3.0− Je souhaite exprimer mon profond mécontentement concernant notre séjour à l’hôtel Mercure. Dans l’ensemble, l’hôtel est magnifique et tout se passait très bien. Cependant, une situation survenue l’après-midi a complètement gâché notre expérience. Nous étions sur le balcon avec ma femme et notre fille. Nous écoutions de la musique sur un téléphone portable et discutions à un volume que nous estimions tout à fait normal. Nous pouvons parfaitement comprendre que cela ait pu déranger un voisin, et si cela avait été le cas, un simple appel courtois de la réception nous demandant de faire un peu moins de bruit aurait suffi. Nous aurions immédiatement fait attention. À la place, la réception nous a appelés en nous disant : « Faites moins de bruit, sinon j’appelle la police. » Nous avons été extrêmement choqués par cette manière de nous parler et de nous menacer. Cette attitude est totalement disproportionnée et ne correspond pas au niveau de service que l’on attend d’un hôtel de cette catégorie. Je suis ensuite descendu à la réception pour discuter calmement de la situation. Malheureusement, l’accueil a été encore plus décevant. La réceptionniste, d’origine asiatique, s’est montrée particulièrement hautaine et nous a expliqué qu’elle travaillait dans le luxe depuis 17 ans, sans que cela ait le moindre rapport avec notre remarque. L’expérience ou les années de service ne justifient en aucun cas un manque de respect envers les clients. Nous sommes nous-mêmes propriétaires de plusieurs établissements en Suisse et nous n’avons jamais traité un client de cette manière. Le respect, l’écoute et la courtoisie sont des valeurs essentielles dans le domaine de l’hôtellerie. C’est vraiment regrettable, car sans cet incident, nous aurions gardé un excellent souvenir de cet hôtel. Une telle attitude de la part du personnel d’accueil ternit malheureusement une expérience qui aurait pu être très positive.
