Sauna ja rauhallisuus erämaassa.

Yli kolmen kilometrin matka moottoripyörällä soratietä. Kohtalaisen isoja kiviä tiellä. Matkustaja ei tykännyt.

Precioso lugar de paso en la naturaleza

7.0

Cabin in the woods for great Lapland experience.

10.0

Cosy inside with a stove and lots of wood. The kitchen area was totally unfussy. Not designed for gourmet cooking but I still managed to cook an omelette! The ecotoilet was a revelation. No smells. Comfy bed. But what made the place exceptional were: 1. The huskies! Over 120 of them, boisterous and curious about visitors. Very barky at first but once you chatted to them and they got used to you they were anxious to connect. I got my hands licked and nuzzled by one male and several females who competed for attention. Lovely. I’m not even a dog person. 2. The sauna and the river. You have to light the stove yourself and there’s plenty wood for this. It takes over an hour to get to 40 Celsius but keep that stove fed generously. A few scoops of hot water on the stones get the temperature up to 50 Celsius. This you can work up a good sweat to nip over, naked, to the river along a narrow boardwalk and step down the ladder into the vivifying waters of the river. I suggest you swim up the current and glide gently back down to the ladder. Once out you’ll feel brand new and can head back to the sauna for a sweat. Repeat! You can also use the water in a container around the stove to ‘shower’ at the end. Mix very hot and cold and pour over yourself. Exhilarating! One plea: if there are others waiting to use the sauna, please make sure you leave plenty wood in the stove to maintain temperature. Otherwise the stove will take over hour to heat up and you’ll want your hour of sweating, so the next person will have to wait 2 hours min for their turn. So be a considerate sauna user. 3. Sara who looks after the place. She’s just great so be nice to her too!

The lock: mysterious operation to get the door unlocked from outside! Minor as once I worked it out it was fine. But it needs a bit of adjustment.

Meillä oli ihanaa kiitos siitä !

Paikka oli aivan ihana. Palvelu ystävällistä ja kaikki toimi. Koirat olivat valloittavia ja puusauna kruunasi yöpymisen.
