The location was nice, easy to get to York after about 20 minute drive. The restaurant onsite was great, staff were lovely but it books up quickly. The scenery was pretty. The hot tub was nice, and it was easy to change temperature/bubbles and was comfortable. The beds were comfortable, but did sink in. Big towels were provided - 1 for each bed (4 total) which was more than enough for the two of us along with the smaller towels in each bathroom.

− When we first arrived to the lodge, there were a large number of ants in the kitchen/dining/living area on the floor, kitchen table, worktops and chairs. When we went to reception to complain, we were told it was a common occurrence all across the site and they would send someone to get rid of them and put ant-repellent down - if it’s so common I’m not sure why this wouldn’t be done before considering the cost of the lodge. The guy that came was super helpful and did remove all of the ants, unfortunately he advised he was going to put a complaint in about the clean on our behalf as there was food and crumbs under the sofas and cushions which would have been attracting them - why is an almost £60 clean charged in the price if food is going to be left, it’s simply disgusting! There were chunks of food left on the cooking utensils, dust on the floors and skirting boards, limescale in the kettle and toilet, overall cleanliness was abysmal. The “quiet hours” between 10pm and 7am were not adhered to by other lodge visitors, which made it awful trying to relax in the hot tub or enjoy a dinner inside when all you can hear is people blasting music or screaming/shouting outside on the decks and none of them were warned or spoken to by staff. Overall this stay was nowhere near worth almost £500 for 2 nights.

Overall good stay,cleaning and mattress let it down.

− Mattress needs replacing ,carpets and sofa need cleaning .

Location and site were perfect, lovely grounds with golf, if you like that.

− Could do with more relaxed seating dog friendly area for just a drink, not having to sit at a table.

Lovely caravan clean and tidy. Lovely lake and site.

− Check in time is ridiculous you loose a full days worth of money. Between 2-3 would be much more suited like abroad. Then also checkout 10am could be 12pm with such a late check in.

Nice location pitched facing the lake which was lovely. Food was unreal at the onsite restaurant

− Properly was unclean please see attached pictures with sofa bed broken meaning myself and partner had to sleep on the couches for three nights! Bathroom blind does not work bedding stained and unclean. Raised the issue and was offered another lodge at 4pm Sunday when we were due to check out 10am the next day! Also notified that if we were to move lodge for the night the hot tub was not available. Still no damage deposit returned or response to the formal complaint raised. Would not return
