Family owned locatie op loopafstand van de South entrance van het Rainforest. Heelijk eten, goed verzorgd. Schone huisjes met mooi uitzicht. Een van de familie neemt je in de ochtend mee op tour door het Park. Was fantastisch.

⭐ An Unforgettable Rainforest Experience – The Best Stay Near Sinharaja!

Our stay at Rainforest Mount Lodge was truly one of the best experiences we’ve had in Sri Lanka. The hotel is located just minutes from the beautiful Sinharaja Rainforest, making it the perfect place to stay for nature lovers. From the moment we arrived, the family who runs the lodge made us feel incredibly welcome. Their hospitality was outstanding—they treated us like family and took care of every detail, so we never had to worry about anything. The rooms were spotless, well-organized, and very comfortable. Waking up to the breathtaking mountain views from our room was unforgettable. The swimming pool overlooking the mountains was another highlight, offering the perfect place to relax after exploring the rainforest. The food was absolutely amazing. Their restaurant is one of the best in the area, serving delicious, fresh, and clean food with spectacular views that made every meal even more enjoyable. The highlight of our stay was the rainforest tours organized by the hotel. We joined both the daytime and nighttime tours, and they exceeded all our expectations. Our guide, Chama, was exceptional. His knowledge of the rainforest, wildlife, and plants was incredible. Thanks to him, we spotted many fascinating animals and learned so much about the unique ecosystem of Sinharaja. Everything was perfectly organized from start to finish, making the entire experience smooth and stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would highly recommend Rainforest Mount Lodge to anyone visiting Sinharaja. Thank you to the wonderful family and the entire team for making our trip so special. We will definitely be coming back!

A Perfect Nature Escape with Wonderful Hosts

This was by far our best stay in Sri Lanka! From the moment we arrived, we received such a warm welcome and immediately felt at home. The hotel facilities are excellent, and our room was spotless, comfortable, and had a breathtaking view. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the mosquito net was fine. we had peaceful, undisturbed nights. Waking up to the sounds of nature and watching so many beautiful birds from our balcony was truly magical.The pool with mountain views was unbelievable.The sunset time is perfect. The garden is also stunning, filled with beautiful flowers and trees, making the whole place feel even more peaceful and relaxing. We joined the hotel’s night tour, which was exceptionally well organized and very safe. We saw so many fascinating night animals and plants that we would never have spotted on our own. We also did the rainforest day tour, and it was an unforgettable experience that we will always remember. The restaurant is clean and well maintained, and the food was absolutely delicious. Every meal was lovingly prepared by the family’s mother, and you could really taste the care in every dish. Breakfast offered plenty of choices and was excellent every morning. What made this place truly special was the kindness of the family. They treated us like part of their own family, always making sure we were comfortable and giving us wonderful attention throughout our stay. We had an amazing time and enjoyed every moment. We highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting the Sinharaja Rainforest—you won’t be disappointed!

Nature vibe

Good location, but dirty room and obnoxious staff member

Location

− The hotel is nothing fancy, a few simple bungalows, a small pool and a restaurant next to the house of the owners. The property is located near the entrance of the park, roughly a 10-minute walk. And this was what I was expecting, something simple, family run. On the first night we did a night forest trek (just a tour of the back of the property, really). But the guide failed to give us the leech-protections, even tough the property claims to include them when you go on a trek and, instead, just proceeded to smear lots of salt on mine and my wife’s shoes, permanently ruining them. He did not give us a talk explaining the risks of the trek or, for that matter, any kind of information before we started it, other than a curt explanation on how to operate the flashlights (I fell once because the ground was slippery, which maybe could have been avoided if the guide had given us more information). Unfortunately, the guide was the person that interacted with us throughout our stay in the hotel, he was the one that came to our room and demanded, always briskly, rudely, to know at what time we’d be having breakfast, and he was the one on the restaurant exasperatedly taking orders. Now, considering that it is a small family run hotel, I’d certainly be more understanding of the fact that the room was dirty, that the mosquito net was full of holes, making it useless, that on our last night the lights went out (just in our room) and that we had to sleep without AC, but there’s certainly no excuse for such lack of professionalism and, especially, for rudeness, which is why my score is so low.

We stayed a little longer because we just didnt want to leave.

The people from the accommodation were the sweetest. Mom always made sure we were eating good and the sons were always ready to help us out if we needed anything.
