Great stay considering the remote location.

If I understood correctly, Occi usually hosts research projects and marine biology students. It has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, and considering its remote location in Sodwana, it’s probably one of the safest and most comfortable places to stay. The Beach is only 10 minutes by car if you take your time. Daily room service and laundry service are available, thanks to Patricia. Candice also greeted me warmly at the beginning of our stay. There’s also safe parking. At the time I visited, there weren’t many guests, but I can imagine that the place becomes lively and more social if there are more people around.

− Corrected on 16.02.25 after clarification by the Managment, thank you for the Efford Great Stay just a few things to be aware of: Cats walk and fight on the roof of the room at night and fight, which can be quite loud and scary, especially if you’re not expecting it. The rooster is another thing to get used to :-) I only found two cockroaches in 6 days. The shower and basin drain directly into the backyard. The street next to the room can also be quite loud at times because the room isn’t well-soundproofed. It would be great if there were at least some salt, pepper, and oil to start with in the kitchen, as well as basic amenities in the bathroom that everyone needs. No Internet connectivity (correctly was not advertised as such and a assumption on my side - so my mistake). If that is not important to you it is a solid 8.

− Se iba mucho la luz, nos quedamos sin wifi varias veces y sin luz en la terraza y no había nadie para preguntar.

Very nice location, on the main street, with free and spacious parking. The cottages are comfy en the kitchen is well equipped. There are a lot of mosquitos and the rooms are not equipped with mosquito nets, so come prepared. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant EAT is delicious.

− Rooms could do with a klamboe or mosquito net in the sliding window.

A longweekend away with family was such a spoil made even better by booking into Occi Lodge

The house was spacious and comfortable and we enjoyed relaxing there. The outside area was well appointed for family gatherings along a braai fire and the entire complex was well run and neat and clean.
