A truly fantastic experience from start to finish with amazing food
10.0We had a lovely three days at Elephants Crossing - it's an amazing location and everyone goes out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The Welgevonden setting is stunning and beautifully managed. Jacob was a wonderful safari guide - we had so many wonderful wildlife experiences from lions at a kill, to baby rhinos, even an elusive leopard. Back at the ranch the team looked after us brilliantly. Chef Jones is a master in the kitchen - the meals were more than delicious: they were masterful. The puddings were a particular highlight. We stayed in the Bush Cottage which was a short wander up above the main camp and felt like its own little world. It was very comfortable, with stunning views - at night the stars were beautiful - and we enjoyed lounging on the deck with the plunge pool during the day. Thank you to all the team who made our stay so special. We would highly recommend Elephants Crossing to anyone looking for an amazing safari experience.
− Hard to think of anything about the lodge itself - but perhaps worth noting that the West Gate (which is where you need to get to for Elephant's Crossing) is a good 30min+ further on from the Main Welgevonden Gate and along a fairly rutted road. But it's worth the extra effort!
A beautiful location with wonderful staff!
9.0The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was excellent and our game ranger Herbert was knowledgeable and did his best to make every game drive unique and interesting. The views are outstanding and we would definitely recommend this lodge.
